The home learning environment is a central topic of this study. There are different types of information we collect. Up to the beginning of November 2022, recruitment has been successful for less than 100 schools. 305 of the children were born in 2011, and 249 in 2012. Up to the beginning of November 2022, recruitment has been successful for 554 children who attend 220 different schools. This has contributed to delaying the project. We experienced being rejected by office staff without being allowed to present information about the study. We sent emails, letters and phoned the schools. However, it turned out to be difficult to get in touch with the schools. When the COVID-19 restrictions were removed in the spring of 2022, we started recruiting schools. This means a two-step procedure for recruitment: First, contacting the parents, and then contacting the schools. It was therefore necessary to inform and recruit parents again before contacting the schools. But we also want to get information from the parents and the schools. The GoBaN study got consent to collect register data for the 1152 children. Recruitment for following up on the 1152 children However, the parents’ level of education differs from the population median as 84.2% of households have at least one parent with a university-level education. Many households have an annual income close to the population median for families with 0-6 year-olds. The potential sample is 1152 children, born in 20, who participated in the longitudinal GoBaN study. WP3 also emphasizes the characteristics of the schools. WP1 concerns children’s well-being, social skills and home learning environments, and WP 3 concerns children’s academic achievements in reading and arithmetics.
